My little one is almost 10 months and I'm after some recommendations for some books for him that will last a while hopefully!

personal I would get them from a library if you have one near. loads of choice

Anything Julia Donaldson, they are fab for many years. If you get board books now for sturdiness you can always replace with paperbacks as they get worn out.
The ‘that’s not my…’ series were massive favourites for some years. The repetitive nature of them and the bright pictures and feely bits are really appealing.
Classics like Hungry Caterpillar, Guess How Much I Love You.
Also make use of your local library for all sorts of board books for that age especially. It also gives you a chance to decide which ones you can stomach reading over and over for the next 5 years 🤣

You can't beat Where's Spot at this age I would say.

Also Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See.

The 'never touch a...' range is a favourite with my ds. Where's mrs tiger (there's a whole range of different ones) and anything with a parts that you can touch, that move, makes sounds etc.

If you want more of a story we like let's go on a rocket.

Library is a great idea if you live near one with a good selection of board books - wouldn't recommend paper library books for a baby because they have a tendency to get ripped

Acorn Wood series for a bit more of a story or Where's Spot always gets a giggle

"That's not my ...." , "Never touch a ....." Or the "Where's..." ("Where's Mrs Ladybird" for example) are all good for touching and feeling.

Flap books.

‘Dear zoo’ is an old time favourite for a reason. Some of the newer books have 4-6 pages. ‘Dear zoo’ has a satisfying number.

Where’s spot? Another great one
‘Oh dear’ also
‘Noisy farm’ too
Roger priddy ‘first 100 words’ flap
Book

Julia Donaldson &axel Schaffer to grow into..

I echo the library comments. If you have one near you then it’s a big money saver to get into the regular habit of going. Not only do you get to enjoy tons of free books but on a rainy day it makes for an easy outing

Shirley Hughes books (any, but especially the ones aimed at babies and toddlers)

Acorn Wood lift-the-flap books like Fox’s Socks, Hide-and-Seek Pig and Postman Bear.

The Wonky Donkey - I'd never heard of it and ordered it on a whim - it is brilliant. Well loved by my 7mo
