Want period back but exclusively breastfeeding

... pretty much what the title says.. does anyone have any advice on how I can get my periods back? I am exclusively breastfeeding my 4 month old and am
Hoping to start trying for baby number 2 in December... really don't want to have to stop breastfeeding so am wondering if there's anything I can do to bring periods back?

Mine returned 3/4 months after with both ebf babies. I was not planning a small age gap, so was pretty miffed.

Mine came back a couple of days before baby was 6 months even tho I was still EBF. I felt cheated!

Depends how much baby is feeding I think. With my 2 older dc I got my period back when they were 20months and having no feeds during day and one overnight. My youngest stopped daytime feeds at 6/7months and got period back at 13months when he had a bedtime feed and limited feeds overnight. 2 older ones were never great eaters but youngest loved food from 6months and lost all interest in milk!

It seems it’s very difficult to predict when you will get your period back as it’s so individual. There definitely is something about night time feeds and hormone levels. I wonder if you were able to replace night time feeds at least in the short term with formula/expressed milk that might be enough to kick start things for you, maybe worth a try if no period after weaning.

Mine came back at 9months when I dropped a few feeds for formula. It was the most horrendous period ever...just advanced warning!!!

Mine came back around 9-10 months, i.e. when they were established on solids and only having a couple of breastfeeds a day.

I had dropped to one morning feed for months and didn't get my period til exactly 4 weeks after my last feed. Baby was 15m.

Mine came back at 5 weeks 4 times (with each kid) despite ebf 😡🙄
