Change in behaviour since starting nursery

I am wondering if anyone has been through this and has advice for us?

My LO started nursery in August - we thought we'd hit the jackpot as aside from one morning, we've had no problems with drop offs despite being known for separation anxiety in the past however the behaviour at home has quite quickly changed.

We have suddenly been dealing with temper, bad moods, attitude, tears, tantrums, and a overall change in the usual personality and even likes/dislikes/hobbies. It seems like she has a problem with the world and the weight of it on her shoulders.

We couldn't work out what was going but over the past week or so little snippets have come to light - apparently there is only one friend that plays in nursery and often my LO sits alone playing or at lunch. I'm not sure what truth is in these statements as the nursery staff always say "we had a great day today!" and LO is known to tell little fibs / dramatise things.

I've tried to, over the past week, encourage my LO to play with others etc but I just get told they didn't want to, or more heartbreakingly they don't like me. She can't even tell me the names of the people in her nursery aside from the teachers.

I am going to ask to get a time to speak to the teachers, not just the 2 minutes at pick up, to try get a idea of what is going on as I am wondering now if the change in her is some sort of reaction to nursery - this is just how it's come out, when she's comfortable and confident at home. (she's apparently "quiet but happy" at nursery)

She's 4, and usually quite in touch with her feelings and emotions for her age so this has blindsided us a little bit and we don't know how best to help and support her through whatever is upsetting her.
