Dairy allergy or just adapting?

My lo has screamed a lot since birth - ebf I cut dairy out and no difference, turns out he had tongue tie. He had it cut and went on to formula at this point it was hydrolysed, still screaming. He was given lansoprazole and milk thickener, still the same until I changed the teat size and he was more settled. I doubted the milk allergy and trued kendamil but foolishly went back down a teat size as I didn’t think it was as thick, he was fine at first no screaming but 2 days later it’s back and I’ve gone back to size 3 and still screaming and unsettled after a feed. Is this dairy allergy or just adjusting to new formula? Do I quickly switch back or persevere?

Join Facebook CMPA page. You say there was no difference when you cut out dairy - how long was this for? It takes 6 to 8 weeks for the dairy to be out of his system. If he was reacting to cmp in bm then he may need a fully dairy free formula.

Changing things up so much affects their tummy too - could be that he has a sore tummy while trying to adapt to the new
milk. How are his poos etc and does he have any other symptoms like congestion, rash, or similar?

My LO has been on comfort milk since about 5 weeks old as she used to have really bad reflux/ colic and this seemed to help. We tried introducing first infant milk back in diet again but she seemed to get a really sore tummy so reverted back to comfort milk. Now we have started weaning and she seems to have developed a wee crackly cough. She has had Philly on toast and had eggy muffins with a wee bit of cheese in it the other day. She doesn’t seem to have a sore tummy though? Is a phlegmy cough a sign of dairy intolerance? Is it just something her body is getting used too? Is she seems in fine fettle otherwise should I change what I’m doing? She did have a bit of soup the other day I made which had a touch of cream in it and did really fret that night at bedtime, it seemed like she had a sore tummy but once she was asleep slept well and seemed fine in the morning?
