Do you have a partner to help?

Nanny, childminder or nursery! Going to depend on funds and the level of flexibility you need

Childminder or Nursery.
Depending on your income there is help with childcare costs

Depends on your household situation.
Private childcare is expensive and usually needs to be paid in advance. You may qualify for help if you are a low income household. Try the job centre or citizens advice for help.

Is that a shift pattern which then means he gets more days off, or is he working 12 hour days all week?
Although either way your household income needs to cover the childcare. Do not think of it as coming out of your salary alone.

He works 12 hour days 5 days a week? Or has some off? If he starts at 9 he can drop the child off at nursery. You could aim to get a job in the morning and he does waking child up, child's breakfast, drop off and then you do pick ups.

The other option is you aim to get a job on the days he is not working.

It's not just your responsibility to look into childcare, you being home currently is facilitating him going to work, so when the time feels right for you to go back it will be a joint responsibility and cost. Its really up to you, I would recommend looking into childminders as they are usually cheaper and quite a nice environment between the home environment and structured childcare. What sort of job would you be looking to do?
