Thinking over some poor behaviour from my children last night.

Interested to hear what regular help/chores/responsibilities your children have around house.

Mine are age 13/10/5

5 year old - tidy her stuff with some help (way more complaining than the toddler), putting her own washing in basket, setting the table, emptying her own school bag.

U forms out the night before

Beds made - mainly on weekends sometimes before school is too much of a rush

Wash their own plate and cutlery - atleast attempt to

Shut the doors behind them

Turn off lights when leaving the room

13 year old here.

Tidy bedroom every evening before bed.
Put plates etc in dishwasher. Empty dishwasher when asked.
Empty and re pack school bag as needed.
Put all laundry in the laundry hamper each evening.
Pair up everyone's socks and put away along with underwear once it's been dried.
Empty bins once a week (not kitchen).
Hoover when requested including stairs.

Forgot ...attempt to make bed (not good at it still!)
Put all their own clean clothes and uniform away
Put the cat to bed (shut in downstairs) at night when requested
Help with gardening once every couple of weeks

Used to also get her own uniform out the night before, put her own folded washing away, empty cutlery drawer of the dishwasher but it’s kind of stopped when she started yr1 with more homework and after school clubs have started up. We definitely need to reintroduce some.

15, do homework, feed the dog, keep her stuff tidy and she'll put her clean clothes away if I put them in a basket on their own. She'll sort her own breakfast/lunch.
10, 9 & 6 (twins) tidy their stuff, they're not very good at it. They're all capable of dressing themselves but do not get uniforms out the night before (I don't see the point tbh).
2 month old, just to sleep well at night.

Thank you everyone, all fairly similar expectations to mine own children- glad to hear I'm not way off the mark.

I ease off a bit if he has loads of clubs/homework. In the holidays however, all of this and getting his own meals 2x a day.
