Just reflux or cmpa too?

Dd was diagnosed with reflux when she was about 6 weeks and went on omeprazole which seemed to make a bit of a difference but not much. She then came off it as seemed more or less better but looks like she has had another flare up. We're going to the drs to discuss but they arent great tbf but I'm expecting to be put back on the omeprazole. Basically I'm now wondering could this also be cmpa or is it likely just reflux so was hoping people could let me know what symptoms their lo's had of cmpa. Dd is 5 months nearly and frequently spits up which seems to cause her pain and she breastfeeds very often (is ebf) she seems to be fussing more lately and hates being laid on her back which she could tolerate previously. No skin issues as far as I can tell.

Google search CMPA and do your research x

I've done nothing but google it since I suspected it but find theres conflicting advice so sometimes I think it is and sometimes not so thought it would be good to get peoples actual experiences

If he's got no tummy/poop symptoms it's unlikely.

Does she suffer with rashes or anything like that? My dd was diagnosed with reflux at 8 weeks and it was awful at times, often 12+ outfit changes per day. She was investigated for cmpa but never had rashes. She was put on prescription formula but it was so watery it made her sick.

I took her off omeprazole at about 8 months as I didn't think it made a difference! When she was standing up most of the time (from 9 months) the reflux effectively vanished.

In my experience, I found that the doctors didn't really care at all about the reflux because she'd grow out of it. When you're in the thick of it, it's horrendous but it does get better. It will get worse before it gets better though.

I should add that the prescription formula made her more sick I thought. I saw that she is ebf anyway but I swapped quite quickly to a different brand of regular formula anyway.

The only way to know is if you remove dairy (don’t replace with soya) from your diet for 6 weeks and then challenge by drinking a big glass of milk.
