Soya milk & constant tummy aches with regular vomiting fests

Hi all,

My just turned 4yo is dairy intolerant, she’s been on soya milk from about age 18 months. She absolutely loves her milk, would drink 6 plus bottles (baby bottles) a day if we would let her. At one point she was, she’d just keeps asking. We’ve now stopped this and reduced her to one in the morning and one at night, mainly as it’s the only way we can get any kind of medication in her. She will not take anything willingly, it’s either blitz attach or in the bottle. She takes regular meds so we just kept up the bottles. I don’t have a problem with the forced blitz attack for short periods but not every single day.

Anyway, for the last few months she’s regular complained of tummy ache and had bouts of vomiting. We’ve spoken to a dr who said cut back in soya milk which we did, she was also treat for a uti just in case.

I know soya milk can be hard on the digestive system. I’m wondering if probiotics will help.

Has anyone else had problems like this.

She’s not having tummy bugs, if she was it would be passed to the rest of us, I get sick really easy so if it was contagious I’d definitely get it.

We’ve tried other milks but she dosnt like any.

Any advice welcome, thanks

Over half of kids with CMPA are also allergic to soya. Remember allergies can develop or get worse at anytime. I would remove all soya from her diet. Oatley Barista or the new Alpro oat milk (from Sainsbury) are good alternatives or Koko super milk.

I am allergic to soya. It is in so many things. Even oat milk makes me feel a bit queasy.
You may need to see a qualified dietician to get advice.

She won’t drink oat milk. She’s not allergic to soya she’s been tested. She has lots of other allergies which have developed or gotten worse with time so we regularly monitor her intake and symptoms. I just think her digestive system is struggling with the amount of soya milk she drinks. We’ve really cut it back. She has some dairy in her diet to increase her tolerance but no enough to introduce milk yet.
