Comfortable baby carrier - recommendations please

My baby's 8 weeks but quite long and heavy and wearing him in the sling is slowly becoming uncomfortable for me, mostly because of his size and that my breasts are on the way and are getting squashed..
I'm looking for a sturdy carrier for a tall parent with large breasts and large baby. Something for long walks outside and doing things around the house. Also needs to be suitable for carrying baby both on the front and on the back.
Any recommendations please?

Do you have a sling library nearby? There are also someb libraries from you can rent online. You can try a variety of carriers this way, figure out what you like before you buy.

I had a long and heavy baby and used a Beco Gemini carrier from 8 weeks. It was very comfortable with the straps crossing at the back - I'm very short but my husband is very tall and we both used it. We used it to front carry but it can be used to back carry too. I experimented with a lot of different ring slings, carriers, and wraps and still carrying at 4yo. 😁

But I'd definitely try a sling library first, and join some Facebook groups - you'll get lots of advice and find second hand carriers.

Second trying a sling library, there are online ones if there isn’t one near you. I have an ergo 360. Used it up until DD was 3.5! I like one with buckles as I don’t have to worry about whether I’ve done it up right.

Sling library 100%. We have the Tula explore and adore it. DS is 97th centile height and weight and my DH and I are both tall, so fits your bill. We liked it so much we just at invested in the toddler version. My best pal on the other hand couldn’t get on board with the Tula at all and had more success with one of the Ergos. It’s so variable you’d be best renting before spending out. The Sheffield sling library does posts rentals across the county I believe.

We loved Mamaruga Zensling (buckles but stretchy) when small & around 6 months, moved to the Ergo360 as DD hated facing inwards with a great passion 😂

Sling library is a good idea.

But for large breasts, I found anything that relied on a chest strap didn’t work (had a tendency to case blocked ducts, plus it hurt). So it may be worth looking for options that don’t really on the chest strap.

I found a meh dai (with grippy, corduroy straps and tied with a cross under the baby’s bum) worked best, but Connecta / Integra was also OK with a lighter baby. It was all about the grippiness of the straps and being able to get the waist belt high and tight enough , and padding and extra straps didn’t work for me.
