Have to buy some little gifts for some of the kids of people dh works with, but am totally lost as to what older children like as mine are little. The age range is from 6 to 11, both boys and girls.

I have some polly pocket stuff and play dough I got on sale, are these too young for them or ok?
Any ideas welcome...

tia

Polly Pocket prop ok for 6/7/8.

Playdough for 6 or 7.

What is your budget and give us a list broken down into sex and ages.

kiddies between 6 and 11 varey (eek, can't remembemer how to spell) wildly in the pressie likes I find, altho a chocolate gift is something you can't go far wrong with.

having said that tho, girls are slightly easier and more consistant I find, and pretty much anything sparkly/fluffy/cute goes down well. (I know there are exceptions to that rule but I am talking generaly). Me to You bears, Hello Kitty, High School Musical and Snoopy anything are the hit in my house liked by all my 3 girlies or maybe a mixture from Claires Accessories. I went in last week in fact and they had "5 items for £5" mini sale on, so assuming they are intact items, a mix in a box would make most girlies happy.

boys tho.....different matter. altho maybe not. If you have a hawkins bazzarr (sp?) nearby then a box of tricks or 'gross' stocking type pressies may possibly hit the spot, or that failing a Game Voucher is usually handy.

It really depends on how much you want to spend i guess. books are good too, altho you may not know their taste or if they already have said book so a voucher again is the safest way. mind you, most do gift cards now which mine really love as they feel that bit more grown up.

Thanks, if I'm safe with the play dough and Polly Pocket I'm happy

I am in Canada so not sure if all toys will be the same, prices, etc but if I'm safe with pink/fluffy/sparkley for the girls I should find stuff fairly easily. I think I only have two boys to get for, both around 5. I was thinking maybe lego or maybe a board game (between brothers and sisters)?

i think lego is a great idea
I find buying for boys hard as I only have girls

board games between siblings are a great idea.....faves in my house are kerplunk (altho my boys have nicked all the marbles so that is now unplayable) and guess who?. Nothing with a dice tho as again, my boys have a liking for these too and howevermuch I tell them they ALWAY* seem to squirrel it away[grrrrrr].

lego is GREAT!!! can't believe I forgot that one, and yeah, polly pocket fine for girls up to 8ish, playdoh for both but possibly a younger cut off.

ooh...did not realise there was no festive angry....

Christmaspsycho, I keep the dice in a separate place and dish one out when a game comes out which requires one! agree they are irresistible. Dcs are getting a marble run for Christmas, and I may do the same thing with the marbles.
