To go private with general symptoms

My DD is 8 years old, generally very healthy and active with no major issues.

She loves school, does sports twice a week and is a generally very happy child, shes my oldest child out of 4.

What concerns me is she always feels sick, sometimes (but not often) she is sick, and she frequently has diarrhea.

In the past 6 months she has suffered with bouts of stomach pain in which one of them ended up in a&e but no cause found.

There is no pattern to the sickness but it will be at least once a month lasting several days. The diarrhea is alot more frequent but again i cant seem to pinpoint whats causing it and will last for days.

Although she is never desperately unwell i am noticing it quite a bit now and wonder if she has an intolerance to something or irritable bowel.

Its not alot to go own, and we have private cover so im happy to take her there but wonder if they wont know where to start due to the lack of symptoms and patterns.

Anyone any ideas or similar experiences.

Does she have any other symptoms, such as bloating? Any growth issues over the years? Might be worth getting her tested for Coeliac disease.

No bloating, she is a very slim girl though, as in she has a 6 pack. This i think is due to her sports and she never bloody sits still.

She is id say slightly taller than average but not by much but probably slimmer than average.

Sounds very similar to how I was as a kid. I wasn’t diagnosed until I was 21 but suffered with bowel issues my whole life. Might be worth asking GP for a blood test to rule it out.

I'd be asking go for coeliac tearing. Don't cut out gluten before the test.

I just took the Coeliac uk online assesment and it says she should be tested.

Coeliacs or Crohn's both present with similar symptoms. You should go for investigations they are neither a quickly confirmed disease.

Dairy intolerance could cause this too. I have very similar symptoms and it came on suddenly around a year ago. I was always fine with dairy, now it makes me terribly sicky and upsets my stomach.

A lot of people can tolerate some dairy, but not huge amounts. I wonder if those bad days coincide with her having a large amount of dairy or some other allergen. This would explain why she is ok some of the time, but not all. Can you start a food diary?
