6 month waking a lot through the night

Hi! My little one has always been a great sleeper, we've always put him in his crib awake with a dummy and waited until he's fallen asleep and then left, from 3.5 months old he slept through the night 8pm-7am, he is turning 6 months in a few days and for the last two weeks has been stirring from about 1am and then needing his dummy put back in about 20 times until 7am when he's up for the day. I'm so exhausted and was hoping someone had some tips. As soon as I put his dummy back in he starts to settle back to sleep, I've also tried leaving him to see if he settles back to sleep on his own without the dummy but this just makes him become more awake, he's never upset he just starts babbling away and takes longer to get back asleep the longer he's had to wait for the dummy to be put back in.

My only sleep tip is cosleeping. For both my children 6 months was the worst sleep regression.

Very frustrating but it really won’t be long until he’s able to put the dummy in himself, let him practice putting it in during the day and soon enough you can fill his cot with lots of glow in the dark dummies and he should find them. Until then you just have to ride it out. Or get rid of the dummy but I never had the guts for that!

I don’t have any tips. Just sympathy. My six month old stirs constantly through the night and needs his dummy putting back in. He also wakes fully a few times a night and won’t go back to sleep unless he’s fed.
The difference with mine is he’s always been a bad sleeper so I’m used to it. It must be a bit of a shock for you to go from sleeping so well to this.
