Can't juggle motherhood and everything else!

I've recently had my first baby (2 months now) who is the absolute light of my life, and I love nothing more than being her mum. However, I'm finding it really hard to establish any sort of routine for myself outside of looking after her. The house is a mess, and my husband continuously complains about it (he's back to working full-time) - I can't seem to find the energy to stay on top of meal planning and cooking, and I feel like breastfeeding (exclusively) is taking up so much of my time.

I am starting to get out of the house a bit more to mum and baby classes, seeing my family, going out on walks etc. but how do you all do it? I see some people who are juggling everything and make it look so easy!

Yep OP, they are all right!
You should just be getting used to being a mum right now ... it’s like basic survival at 2 months day to day living! Either DH does the cleaning himself or gets a cleaner to support you... and lots of DH cook when they get home from work ! Mine and all my friends husbands do that side of things xx

Tell your DH to do one.
Get a cleaner or stop worrying about housework.
Explain patronisingly to your DH that breastfeeding an infant is not just a Full time job it is a round-the-clock job.
Online shop for ready meals, simple stuff like jacket potatoes, baked beans, fresh soups, fruit.

No one finds it easy. It may LOOK easy, but no one finds it easy.

Lower your expectations of yourself, and raise your expectations of your partner.

@Miriam101 this might be the best piece of advice I've read on this topic. 👏👏👏

Agree with everyone else, tell your husband to sort the house/dinner out. I've got no time for men who think they've got big important jobs and can't do anything round the house.
