Breastfeeding and weight loss

I was just wondering - is if a myth that breastfeeding makes you lose weight? I log my calories and have about 1600 a day, have a great supply baby feeds well and seems very content. I exercise daily (walk dog, plus 2.5 year old keeps me running around), eat healthily, but I am stuck when it comes to losing weight!! Still have 0.5 stone before I am back at pre pregnancy weight. I thought that breastfeeding was supposed to speed weight loss up, but I wonder if that’s why I am not losing? Any tips gratefully received Smile it is making me feel a little down as I just feel I’m never going to get my body back!

I belive it's a myth ✋
I put on more weight while I was feeding and lost it rapidly when I stopped. I did a bit of research at the time and there have been studies done where they've found bf mums gained weight rather than lost. The exhaustion leads to poor food choices. I lived off sugar. My body craved it.

I didn't lose the last bit of baby weight until I stopped breastfeeding. Breastfeeding made me really hungry.

I think initially in the first few weeks it helped, but then reached a plateau. It doesn't help that I am ravenous 24/7 and seem to eat carbs non stop lol.
