1-yr-old doesn't have a favoured comfort item

Is this normal? She has toys she enjoys playing with, but she doesn't ever seek one out, nor does she seem to have formed an attachment with any item in particular.

We co-sleep and I still BF her through the night and for daytime naps. She's definitely bonded with me and DH. It's just toys she doesn't seem attached to.

Will she develop an attachment to a specific object? It would be nice for her to have a comfort item as we transition her into a cot.

My baby is 18months now. We co sleep/bf still. I was concerned she didn't have a comfort toy too. In the last month she has started to become a bit more attached to other things but I'm still her favourite for now!

@twinkletoedelephant

Dd dint have one, she pushed a pikachoo in a dolls pram for a couple of months when she was 3..

Ds was very attached to a can of meatballs after a caravan holiday one year....

This made me properly laugh!

Thanks all - seems like I needn't worry.

DD1 has an elephant comforter that she randomly got attached to at around 9 months. I was so grateful as it helped her settle at nursery/with my in laws when I went back to work. Made bedtimes 532 times easier too. She’s nearly 3 and still sleeps with her. We have a spare but of course she knows the difference.

Now am desperately trying to get DD2 (6 weeks) attached to a muslin comforter as we’re going away for two nights next year and need her to actually nap somewhere other than a sling by then….

DS is 2.5 and has have never had any comfort thing. He’s just not bothered!

My DD is almost 2 and a half and has only recently in the last few months started to get more attached to some items, but eve then they rotate. She likes her fleecey 'heart blanket' at bedtime but usually won't notice if it's not there and in the wash for example.

She has a few teddies she loves and at the minute has a tiny little fox that she brings to bed and out and about, but again she would forget about it if it wasn't there most of the time and she'll probably favour another one next week 😆

My DD8 has never had one. We used to joke which teddy was the flavour of the month Grin
