Having been reading all the 'I name this child....' posts - I've been thinking about the other important factor in choosing names - the initials!! Do you know any bad ones that have made a funny word? My poor ds is a prime example - His name is Finlay Alexander Rod Myers ...... poor boy!!!

My sister is SMA.
My cousine was almost CRAP - and they changed it because of the initials thing.

My son is DAM. We agonised over that as if it would brand 666 on him. I of course now never think of it. A friend of a friends son is IV. I hope he becomes a Dr.

Theres also at school a problem with initials plus surname , a friend of mine had lots of hassle cos hers were S.M.Eliot (put it all together)

We added another middle name to ds twin2's name. If we hadn't his initials would have been ARS. Wouldn't they have had fun and games at school with that one!

His initials are actually AWRS (the R is my maiden name I insisted on putting in both boys names.

i always remember my best friend when i was 15 writing over and over her "new" signature...being the surname of a boy she was really in love with. then we worked out that her new initials would have spelt TIT. she wasnt so pleased after that.

Mine are fairly OK - FKH, unless in the hands of teenagers who spell them out phonetically.
