Baby keeps sitting up when being put down for a nap

My nearly 9 month old has now mastered crawling but however has also learnt how to sit herself up from the lying down position. Nap times are now a disaster! She is exhausted yet every time I’m going in she is sat up playing with comforter. Does anyone have any experience of this and how did they overcome it?

Ride it out - there isn’t much you can do when they’ve just figured out how to do it, it’s just too fun and exciting (oh, to be 9 months old Grin) They get bored of it soon enough.

The same thing also happens when they figure out how to pull them selves up to a standing position.

And then they follow it up with standing and then climbing out and then running away when the hear naps being mentioned Grin

Probably just have to ride it out op. Just keep laying her down. Eventually she will sleep and this phase to shall pass

Don't go into her. If she's happy sat playing with her comforter just leave her. She may just lay down. My two DD used to practically fall asleep sitting up. I used to watch them on the video monitor.

As others have said if she’s happy I would leave her and she’ll hopefully have a play and then lie down and go to sleep

If content it doesn't really matter if she isn't sleeping, quiet time is good too! As pp's have said, after a bit they will often just get bored and go to sleep anyway. Pull the door too, and leave her to it.

My DD does this, I usually just leave her to it and after a while she lays down and goes to sleep.
