Feel like a bad mum

Should I send my dd to school with a blocked and runny nose, I'm certain it's just a cold as no cough or loss of taste and smell. She's begging me to keep her home as she didn't sleep last night and is tired but I have to work and it's so hard to get a day off. I've got no one else that can look after her. Feeling like an awful mum.

How old is she?

Don't worry I think we all have days like this. I'd put her in school with the view of maybe you'll have to pick her up early if the school phones. But don't feel too bad on your daughter as once she's there she'll be okay, I remember being young and managing just fine the next day after little sleep sometimes. Could you give her some calpol before dropping her off? Tell her that will make her feel better but mummy has to work today x

We had the rule that if you could get out of bed, eat breakfast and get dressed, you were well enough to go to school. My DD has operated this rule on herself all her working career. No one came to any harm.

If the school feel she shouldn't be there will you be able to get her? And what are the chances the school will send her home?
