Teething 3 month old???

Hello mums,

I'm turning to you to find out your thoughts and hear about your experience.

I think my 3 month old daughter is teething, but everyone keeps telling me that it is too early! These are the things she is doing that make me think that:

She keeps spitting out her dummy and biting her hands instead

She sometimes cries after a feed, sometimes while eating (I'm breastfeeding)

She sleeps for 2 hours at night and after she keeps waking up every hour

I'm struggling to put her down to sleep at night, very fussy in evenings (she has never been like this and used to sleep very well at night)

In the evening she asks for my breast but uses it for comfort

I'm a first time mum so this is all very new for me, any thoughts? 🙂

My daughter was like and I did think she was teething. But also since I bottle fed she wasn't getting enough milk and needed the teat changing to a bigger size . I know you said you breastfeed but do you think she's getting enough milk? Like is she putting weight on? Speak to ur doctor or midwife.

She is definitely getting enough milk and putting on weight very nicely! Getting a bit chubby even 🙂

It's early but not unheard of. My DS had some pains and teeth showing under the gum at that age - and he was a preemie so I was told he'd likely be on the later side for teething!

My second child had her first tooth break at 2.5 months. It's not too early

Not too early at all. Dd was miserable and droopy. My sil mentioned teething (my first born so I thought I had month to go yet) sure enough a couple of weeks later her two front bottom teeth were through at 4m and 4 days. We would alternate pamol and ibuprofen throughout the worst bits which helped immensely.

Drooly not droopy!

Agree with others, it's not too early. Mine is 4 months this week and the two bottom teeth are through. We had most of the things you've described from 2 months, hoping things will settle now they're through. Although still dribbling lots, biting everything within reach and breastfeeding for comfort - especially during the night. We found the Ashton and Parsons teething powders helped.
