If your child wore MotherEase Wizard Uno, did they stop working?

Our DC is 14 months and recently the MotherEase Wizard UNO's have stopped keeping him dry. This was the best nappy after trying all sorts at the beginning. Our night nappy combination is working fine, but during the day the uno are leaking, sometimes after a short time, sometimes 3-4 hrs. We always use a charcoal or hemp booster as well.

Did any users of Wizard Uno find that once their DC was older / bigger they stopped working? He is big for his age.

Wondering what to do now and don't want to switch to disposables.

Yes, I had a couple with my daughter and we found this around a similar age. We switched to two-parters, Bamboozles and Little Lambs mostly. Ended up moving to disposables in the end because I had another baby and couldn't face the washing with an 18mo and newborn but we did go back intermittently and they worked well.

More than 3-4 hrs is quite a long time in any nappy daytime isn’t it?

We use tots bots. Bamboozle at night lasts 12Hrs, daytime easy fits. Daytime I try and change max every 3 hrs. If I’m going to be in car long drive or similar I add an insert just incase

I don't know @Caspianberg it used to be far less frequent. Now it can be only an hour sometimes. I've noticed much more laundry ConfusedSad

We went to stay with relatives and had to use disposables temporarily and they lasted much longer. I don't want to have to swap though!

@Cakeandslippers interesting thank you. I'm not sure I can face trialling a new system and forking out for it all. I'm disappointed.

Do you have some extra inserts? I would add some of those.

When Ds was about 5 months he started out weeing the easyfits as I think he was just drinking so much before weaned. We added insert for about a month and it solved issue. Now he’s on solids insert isn’t needed anymore

Could it be he’s now at age where he’s holding wee and then weeing all at once? I think they do this towards potty training a bit. So it’s just not absorbing as too much at once?

Not wizard Uno's but pop ins - used to last well and then hit 12/13 months and lasted maybe 2 hours? Bamboozle and pop in cover was better but have ended up moving him into size 3 little lambs or motherease toddleease (more expensive but better) as pop ins also got too small but bought as few as I can get away with and wash more frequently. Real pain in the arse. Now potty training him at 18 months (hopefully) as have another baby on the way and don't want to wash two sets !

I agree with Caspianberg, I think that is too long in a nappy in the day. Mine was in bambino mio solo until potty training and I think I just accepted that I needed to change them more often. I think I am probably unusual though as I noticed that if I was out at a park or something for a morning or afternoon with friends with similar aged children I would always do an change and they wouldn’t. So I think reusables do possibly need changing more often but I sort of think this is good because sitting in your own wee for hours is a bit grim. But yeah, it does add to the washing load and makes it harder to have them dry if you don’t have loads. Good luck whatever you decide.
