Teeth at 6 weeks?

My ds is only 6 weeks old but I spy teeth! Does this mean they are coming through or could they just be sat there until they start to grow through in a few months? Very unusual to start teething now surely?

It could be. But not that experienced. I have known babies to be born with teeth 😂 so could happen 🤷🏼‍♀️

I've just posted this on another thread actually so I'll paste my response:

my daughter had two very similar on her bottom jaw. I first noticed them when she was only 3 weeks old - doctor has confirmed they are teeth in our case. She said it's uncommon but not unusual for them to get teeth early. I was advised that it doesn't mean they will properly erupt yet and they might just sit in the gum for a while and the gum can often harden back over (which I think has happened in our case as one is much less visible now and she's 9 weeks). Really hoping they don't come through too early as she's breastfed 😱.

Looks like teeth to me like PP said they could sit there for ages and not fully erupt.

Though have read of some babies being born with a tooth etc so not unheard of
