Anyone else experience this? Beb is ~6mos. It's not as bad as when I was pregnant but has been pretty rough this week (we are moving and I used my leg to push some boxes which seems to have cause a flair up) We also co-sleep and I know that exacerbates it but before this week it mostly just bothered me in the morning.

If I go to the dr what will they do for me? It is not pelvic girdle pain and is definitely something with pubic bone on the right side which was my most painful side while pregnant. For the last 3 months of my pregnancy I could barely walk and I'm scared it will get bad like that again! The sensation alternates between burning muscle pain and sharp twinges.

If you had this did it eventually go away? Also do heat/cold help alleviate symptoms? I avoided them while pregnant because I was silly and scared to hurt the beb. Stretches/walking seem to make it much worse. Sorry to ramble, in a lot of pain!!!

My groin bothering me op,I'm 5 months postnatal and had it since birth but not during pregnancy. Irs a weak pelvic floor presumably. I told the doctors who referred me for physio but it a telephone referral so all a waste of time really. I need assesing properly and I'm planning on going to a private pelvic floor physio as it's stopping me getting back into jogging properly as it keeps flaring up

Op, I am 10 months pp and still have it. For me, it's mainly in my sacroiliac joints. It was pretty bad for the first 4 months, I had to lean on the pram for walks outside. Got referred to a physio at that point (phone consultation). She sent me a bunch of exercises to do. After doing those for about a month, one day I had a loud clunk in my pelvis when walking and pain got better, but not gone. Now it's a lot better, I no longer need to use a pram as a Zimmer frame, but I still get pain. Cosleeping as well. I am persevering with exerciise and hoping for the best.

Oh, also, physio told me that whilst I breastfeed, the hormones keep the joints loose, so makes it difficult for SPD to go away. So yeah... I'm not planning on stopping BFing for another few months. Cheerful thought.

I still have problems and DS is 13. That's because I'm hypermobile. A low dose contraceptive pill and physio prescribed exercises keep it manageable. Look up the Beighton score and see where you are at, as this will impact how you need to be treated. If you are breastfeeding this may well be keeping your ligaments loose. If you can afford it I would recommend seeing a private physio. They are far more knowledgeable than anyone you will see in the NHS. Even just one appointment will work wonders for you if you follow their advice.

It's so hard for me to picture exercise helping because gentle movement makes me so sore right now! But I will definitely look into physio if that has helped others. Unfortunately I'm in the US so it's all private... i would like to breastfeed for as long as I can but if it gets to the point where I can't walk again I'll have to stop :(

I suffered for 2 years after having our twins, I was also diagnosed with osteoarthritis. I took up strength training (powerlifting) which made a huge difference to my joint troubles. I have recently had another baby, had spd with her but continued my powerlifting until I was 35+2wk and it was much more manageable. Once I stopped the hip pain worsened until she was born, 4wk old now and my hips feel pretty good although my knees are now niggly as I can't return to the gym yet (had cesarean so will be a while).
My exercise of choice goes against most of the spd advice online but it was the best thing. I did all the avoiding this and that previously but that led to weakness which made life more painful long term, a bit of discomfort in the gym for a less painful day to day life is a win for me.

You can get this treated through hands on therapy to manipulate your pelvic joints. I had it for two years and was totally fobbed off by GP and NHS, but eventually I got private treatment which sorted it. Take a look at the Pelvic Partnership website, they are a UK group so won't all be relevant to you in the US, but there are good videos and information.

By the way it's a myth that breastfeeding causes this problem, I had terrible problems with my first but was more or less fine with my second. I breastfed both. The difference was that I got proper treatment during pregnancy with the second so my joints never got badly misaligned or inflamed.

I don't know how relevant this is, but can someone explain to me how do you use the postpartum recovery aids? Ice packs+ padstickles + spray? You use the ice packs a bit then you change to the pads and then you spray when you go to the loo, or do you use everything all at once ? 🤦🏻‍♀️
