Tastiest packaged baby food??

So my really good friend has been paralysed from the neck down.
It happened 12 weeks ago. She is ventilated and we know she’s not going to get better.
She’s in hospital with only her mum allowed to visit.
She is just learning to eat again and is only allowed mush type food- that the nurses can spoon feed her.
I’m putting together a little care package for her and thought I could put some tasty baby food in for her…. Has anyone tasted any and can recommend?
I know this is really weird but we are so powerless to do anything to help/comfort her.

I spent a good few years working with people with spinal injuries with varying degrees of paralysation. Honestly, I know you really do mean well and you care for your friend, but please don't give her baby food! It's very offensive and I would think she will be quite upset by it.

I wouldn't include food in a care package for someone in hospital. They won't be able to store it anywhere and at the moment a lot of trusts aren't accepting that kind of thing due to Covid. She probably also has a specialist diet arranged with a dietician.

Oh my goodness, you can't give her baby food! I know you mean well but that is not appropriate. She will be learning to live with a massive loss of independence. Giving her baby food is therefore quite insensitive.

There must be some soft foods you can give that aren't baby food!

It is what we’ve been told to get her!!

Why can't you get other soft food like small pots of custard, jelly, etc?

I think it would absolute break me if this had happened to me and someone sent me baby food. The last thing she needs is to be infantilised. Like pp said above, plenty of soft food suitable for adults you can give to her.

What an awful situation. The brand Clearspring do very nice fruit puree. It’s not marketed for babies. You could also get some very upmarket yoghurts. Some veloute soups. Sorry that’s all I can think of right now.
