Worried it's a underlying health problem !!

So my son (2.5months) he started kindergarten in April. He is a very healthy child prior. When he started he has been on and off sick. I'm talking sick then better for a few days and sick again!! And this happening over and over.

Everytime he is sick it's the worst end of the scale. Fevers, spewing , coughing and breathing issues. He is sick again and has been for the last 2 weeks.

He is very happy and playful but just when he seems like he's improving he starts coughing again and spewing up.

He hasn't been eating much although he isn't much of an eater. But just when he seems to be nearly 100% he backtracks.

Talked to the doctors multiple times and they don't seem concerned, however I'm worried it's an underlying health issue.

Anyone else had anything similar and can provide some reassurance.

I could have written this myself. I pushed for a paediatrician referral and my GP agreed to an E referral, they agreed to do a full blood panel and everything was completely normal. I then paid for a private paediatric referral who confirmed the same thing, we’ve had an utterly terrible 5 months of repeat illness but we are now on the other side so believe me it will get better.

Push for the paediatric referral with your GP and get a full blood panel run. Happy to chat if you have any questions XX

Have they checked for paediatric asthma? When my dd started nursery she was also sick every other week with a horrendous cough that was much worse at night, turned out it was asthma.

If it’s the first time they’ve been to childcare then it’s entirely normal.

Thanks @AperolWhore !
It's just so scary!! I start wondering if there is something more and they're missing something. I guess I just want me healthy little boy back.

Yes We are going to organise a blood test after many visits.

@Fizzysticks yes. I've brought to there attention myself and partner were both asthmatic! But they said his lungs are quite good. That he had RSV the first time and he wasn't bad considering (he did have temp of 39.5 and lethargic) but his breathing was good.

The thing about my son , he's been admitted to hospital twice because he has been real bad , but he picks up really fast and is so alert and happy they think it's nothing but the first year of kindergarten.

Hi all,

I wanted to give an update to everyone who offered advice or maybe reading this worried about there little ones.

We are very fortunate that our son has a great doctor who specialises is children and woman health.

After talking I'm not as worried. We went in and did a thorough check. The good news for my son is that his chest is clear so the wet chesty cough is phlegm sitting in the back of the throat , at two the don't know how to clear it. So we are offering him more warmer beverages or ice cold to help and taking him into a steamy bathroom twice a day to help clear it.

My sons lymphnodes on one side appear to be large but nothing concerning! He's meeting all his growth and weight expectations and doctor said he is a
Very healthy child. He doesn't want to do bloods because he isn't showing anything out of the ordinary and had bloods done earlier in the year.

He could cough for another two weeks but what he told us to look out
For us sucking in at the chest , breathing faster or a behavioural change. If any of these things happen to come back.

Thanks all , I feel much better !!!
