If little one falls asleep in buggy....

...on holiday when out in evening, how do you then transfer to cot once home?

Really want to just go out and let dd (1) sleep in buggy on holiday in the evenings so we are not confined to hotel every night.

Just can't see her transferring easily into cot once we get back... she's not a laid back child!

Can anyone reassure me or offer any tips at all?

You'll need to wake them a bit to get them in their night time nappy and sleep bag if you use one. Another feed or bottle and cuddles then cot?

I used to get my little one ready for bed then put them in the buggy. I had a special travel gro bag that you could put the straps through.

You could put a light soft blanket under her in the buggy and then just use that to gently lift her out like it’s a cocoon of softness. Our buggy also had a lever such that we could lay her down flat in it when she was sleeping. You could look into one that does that.

Thats what I did. At the time I had a 4 year old and a 2 year old. We wanted to stay out so they were put in pram

Bath, pj's, bottle, buggy..
Transfer to a dark roomed cot on return. Keep quiet until they drift back off!!

It's a lot easier than you think!
My LOs routine wasn't kept on holiday, naps were later, so he went down later but once he was down he slept through anything!
Didn't wake when I done a nappy change and into nighttime romper etc.

We had mixed success with this. A couple of nights they woke when we got back to the hotel and took a couple of hours to resettle. Others they woke when we were still out, like they’d had an evening nap. Still took a while to settle when we got back.

I think you just need to see how it goes. I’ve never successfully transferred from car to cot either so I was never optimistic.

Good luck OP, I’m super jealous of anyone who nails this!

Pick up, change nappy, put on pjs, put in cot - did it a lot!

Thanks so much guys, really helpful. My worry is weather it would be worth the risk of having a late and disturbed night and grumpy baby next day.

My lo would absolutely not sleep through having a nappy changed as a pp said 😲 wow that's some impressive sleeping!

Dd is never too keen on being asleep and I worry that if she's had a bit of sleep over our dinner time she will treat it as a late nap and be ready for playtime again just as I'm ready for bed?
