Im trying to get my ds (30 months) potty trained.
He will happily wear his pants all day but wont ask for the potty even when he must be busting.
I thought i would call his bluff this morning and either wait for an accident or wait till he asked for the potty.
He did neither but held his wee all morning untill just before his afternoon nap when i gave in and sat him on the potty (im putting him in nappies for naps and night time).
He seems able to hold it for a really long time.
Should i give up on waiting for him to ask or let him have a few accidents or just keep sitting him on the potty myself?
AARRRGGGHHH!

If he can hold onto his wee for that long, then you must be halfway there.

Can you just tell him it's potty time at set times through the day and get him into the habit. You may find he starts asking himself after a while.

Or keep asking himyourself through the day at regular intervals?

Whenever i ask him if he wants the potty he always says no.Whats that all about is he just being stubborn? So usually i resort to sitting him on it anyway.
Do you think its mean to let him have a few accidents then maybe he would want the potty?

I would just carry on with what you are doing and he'll get the hang of it. He maybe dpoesn't realise that he has a full bladder, but has enough muscle control to hold it in....

When I was toilet training my DS I had a pampers sticker book. He really got the idea of stickers and we never looked back.

Maybe a sticker chart with headings like asked for the potty, did a wee in the potty, did a poo in the potty etc before moving on to the toilet and handwashing etc?
