scottish mummy- Mine is also cant get you out of my head, not sure if for same reason. Ds1 was under light treatent for jaundice and had an orange plastic thing around his head to protect his eyes. Everytime some one visited us they said how he looked like he should be in the kylie video

pollywollybauble · 30/11/2007 21:29

iwouldgoouttonight · 30/11/2007 21:39

Chasing cars - Snow Patrol for me too (many an hour was spend trying to rock DS to sleep to it).

And Scissor Sisters - I don't feel like dancing (danced to it when I was in labour and with DS now!)

my guy because ds3 is called ....guess what?we always sing along.

Habbibu · 30/11/2007 21:51

Pollywolly, mine should be the theme tune to Deal or No Deal. Both consultant and proud father were watching it as baby arrived...

Vulgar · 30/11/2007 21:51

"The first time ever I saw your face' by Roberta flack.

i wonder now, how I never thought before that it was about a mother seeing her child for the first time

blub!

Oh and "I'm sticking with you" has been one of Ds's favourite songs ever.

also "insominia" by Faithless

habbibu

vulgar i never realised that and now i'm sitting here with goosebumps...

iloverosycheeks · 30/11/2007 22:05

I'll be there - Jackson 5, overjoyed stevie Wonder, neon lights kraftwerk, whole gorillaz album - strange mix but used to soothe very fractious newborn, could not listen to now without blubbing don't think!

BroccoliSpears · 30/11/2007 22:06

RobinRB - that Tim McGraw song just made me cry! Do you know which album it's on as would love to get it for dp for Christmas.

Vulgar · 30/11/2007 22:08

pollywollybauble-I get goosebumps too. It's such a beautiful song.

lucy5 · 30/11/2007 22:10

Couple of Kooks - David Bowie Played this when I had baby blues when dd was a few days old and cried all day, played it again when ds was born last year and cried all day too. In fact if I put it on now i will probably cry again

lucy5 · 30/11/2007 22:13

Whoops forgot to say I played this, my last post makes it sound like I had a private audience with David Bowie!

Vulgar · 30/11/2007 22:14

Kooks was written for his son wasn't it Lucy5?

madamez · 30/11/2007 22:14

Lucy5 - Ialways thought that Kooks was a lovely song to listen to while PG or caring for a newborn. But have never actually owned a copy of it. And Athlete's Wires used to make me blubber because it was out when DS was a newborn (he was fine but once I worked out that the song was about a struggling premie I just used to howl every time I heard it - total new mother emotional wuss).

honey2theb · 30/11/2007 22:23

aerosmith' dont wanna miss a thing'

' i could stay awake just to hear you breathing, watch you smile while you are sleeping, while your far away and dreaming,' makes me cry though! xx

lucy5 · 30/11/2007 22:24

Yes it was. It's funny how a song can get to you, isn't it?

hairycaterpillar · 30/11/2007 22:24

skye boat song - it's my nighttime song when pacing/cuddling with screaming/unwell child.

hi-ho hi-ho its off to work we go - it's our tidy up time song (and I think I still cant believe they fall for it!)

EachPeachPearMum · 30/11/2007 22:41

Jack Johnson, In between Dreams- listened to the album so many times during 9th month of pg, then over and over once dd was born.
She loves that album, and always calms instantly I put it on.
Dh likes 'If I could' most....

"A brand new baby was born yesterday,
Just in time
Papa cried, baby cried
Said, your tears are like mine"

Wolverina · 01/12/2007 06:01

Another vote for Aerosmith here, it gives me a lump in my throat every time! Also Coldplay "The Scientist" was out when DS was newborn, and the lines "Nobody said it was easy, no-one ever said it would be this hard" really resonated with me!

When DS was born we were listening to Dusty Springfield "I'm Coming Home Again" so that's also one of his songs, and now he's 5 he really loves it!

2sugars · 01/12/2007 06:06

That Christmas carol, Joy to the World. Don't know why - it made me well up every time I heard it during dd1's first Christmas.

ItsBeehindYou · 01/12/2007 10:43

I hope you dance by Lee Ann Womack always made me cry when I was pregnant. I daren't listen to it now.
