Dry them in the sun? If we get any!

Seeline · 19/08/2021 09:09

What are the stains from?

grey12 · 19/08/2021 09:22

I do the pink vanish gel (you can use an old calpol syringe to put it in the right place Grin) for 10/15 min before going in the machine. And then put them in the sun. Repeat if necessary.

If it's white you can use bleach. 3 seconds and wash! 3 seconds and wash! Otherwise bleach can stain

Have u tried napisan? It’s amazing for stains! Steep the clothes in it then put in the wash

Fairy liquid is good. Most stains are food and grease based and washing up liquid is a degreaser.

greenmacaron · 19/08/2021 10:56

What wash cycle do you use?
I wash really filthy things on a 60 degree long cotton wash with plenty of bio powder. No stains here.

rosesarered321 · 19/08/2021 11:01

Rub washing up liquid into any grease stains when you put them in the laundry basket.
Then a long 40 wash cottons wash with a biological powder gets rid of any stains for me.

HappyAsASandboy · 19/08/2021 11:01

Wash at a minimum 40 and preferably 60 if the fabric can take it (I tend to ignore labels a bit because they're conservative and recommending lowers temps for eco reasons).

Use bio powder. I find the cheaper "main brands" to be the best for stain - DAZ is the best in my view, particularly in hard water areas like mine.

Don't use washing liquids or pods. They just don't work as well as powder. I also don't use fabric softener as it coats the fibres and makes them hold stains.

Use the amount of powder it says on the box. I was shown by my mum to just use one scoop, so that's what I've always done. When I started using the recommended amount of powder for my hard water, my clothes feel so much cleaner. It will seem like a lot of powder if you're used to just one scoop!

Dry outside in the sun if you can!

Fairy powder stain remover is the best only £2 in savers too

RosieBdy · 19/08/2021 11:04

Fairy green soap bars are brilliant.
They get most stains out of clothes, carpet, etc
The smell always reminds me of my Nan which is a bonus!

Elbow grease spray in the yellow bottle. £1 for asda. Not failed me yet. That and sunshine.

rosesarered321 · 19/08/2021 11:08

Oh gosh yes as @HappyAsASandboy use the amount of powder recommended on the packet for your type of water ( hard or soft) then the amount for very dirty washing and your size machine.
And don't overfill your machine.

Danikm151 · 19/08/2021 11:14

Elbow grease. Napisan.
Drying in the sun can help with stains but all depends on the weather!
