Hi has anyone travelled on a easy jet flight from UK with a Car Seat for a 2 year old?

The policy's are vague and waiting on response from the queries team.

Lady in customer service said it's fine to bring in board a car seat but she didn't have any further info that why I'm waiting on queries team to reply.

Any advice be much appreciated as I'm size does it have to have certain accreditation etc

It would need to be forward facing, able to be secured by a lap belt and be able to fit in a 44cm gap. I'd put it in the hold tbh

No the I want it on board as being on a shorter flight my two year old would not sit on seat with normal belt wriggling out at least this ways he is strapped in.

demented is right about the requirements.

It’s usually the width that is a pain. Is it less than 44cm?

You'll probably need to buy a new compatible seat then. Most seats are not able to be secured by a lap belt only

Why would you want a 2yo strapped in a car seat on a plane? That sounds awful for them and you.

HalloHello · 18/08/2021 20:34

Nah there's no way you'd fit a normal car seat and be able to secure it safely into a plane seat. How are you going to attach it with a lap belt?

I would just be bribing my child with chocolate, crisps and iPad!!!

TheresALight · 18/08/2021 20:39

We carried our front facing baby seat around the airport for 3 hours when LO was 9 months old, as they'd told us over phone and webchat that we could take it on board. It was removed from us as we boarded the steps to the airplane and put in hold. That was Easyjet 2017.
So I don't think you'd have much chance sorry.

Do you want to restrain your child, or do you need the carseat?
A cares harness is another option.

GintyMcGinty · 18/08/2021 21:07

When ours were that age they travelled on our laps with carer's seatbelts.

Reason being I think it's way more comfortable fit them that they are strapped in for sleeping etc the safety belt just goes through the back. Up till now we have always done trips with all our kids and the youngest on our laps and then own normal seat. I just think if you have a determined head strong child like mine car seat would work well!! Totally will have the snacks iPads etc ready too 😜😜

I looked into it and there’s a britax car seat that should be compatible.

We used the cares harness but you can only sit in the back row as it obstructs the tray table of the person behind you.
