DS who is approching two still is brestfeeding. Not a considerable amount but now and again, should I quit him on it altoghther? It does settle him at night when he can be cranky.

If you’re happy and he is happy then you can continue. If either of you want to stop then it’s time to stop.

THIS.

What would you prefer to do?

Think Im kind of worried of continuing it as he gets older, perhaps it's best to stop.

Don't stop just because of his age, if you're both happy doing it. If, on the other hand, you've had enough then it's fine to stop.

Make yourself a list of pros and cons, if the only con is that people might raise an eyebrow if they knew, I don't think that's a problem really!

SilverTimpani · 18/08/2021 14:26

It’s absolutely up to you. If you want to stop it’s absolutely fine, but if you want to continue that’s great too! His age alone isn’t a reason to stop if you’re happy to continue. All children wean in the end.

There is no need to stop yet if you don't want to. The milk still has a nutritional benefit for him. I was breastfeeding my daughter just at bedtime from when she turned two; she stopped when she was 3.5.

What’s worrying you? DD2 has just turned 25 months and I’ve noticed a significant decrease in the number of feeds she has now. For a while we’ve had a rule of ‘boobies are for home’.
