when she has the bottle she starts to get sleepy.then when we change her nappy before putting her to bed that stirs her up
so just wondering what you do?

ive heard alot of people say they have a bath bottle then bed, but do they do a nappy inbetween?

I do bath, clean nappy, bottle, bed. Or if it's not bath night, then change for bed, (including nappy), bottle, bed

Noooooo don't disturb her if she's getting sleepy... change it before..
we I always did the bath-bottle-bed thing as well...

Magicmayhem · 29/11/2007 17:08

I meant we as in we didn't do it I did

TheQueenOfQuotes · 29/11/2007 17:09

oh and if they still wake in the night I only change their nappy if it's very wet (and at risk of leaking before the morning( or have done a poo, otherwise they wear the same one all night)

Nemo2007 · 29/11/2007 17:12

I always changed nappy, gave bottle then bed. I only changed in night if its very wet, pooped or falling off..lol

Camillathechicken · 29/11/2007 17:14

always did wash/bath , nappy, feed. did not cahnge nappy again until morning unless soaking or pooey. no point disturbing a sleep baby

Magicmayhem · 29/11/2007 17:15

My son drank so much, 8 - 9 oz at about 12 weeks that I used to put this gauze/cotton pad in his nappy so that it soaked into that before it wet his nappy, otherwise his babygrow and the bed used to get wet everynight....

robinredbreast · 29/11/2007 17:16

thanks for your help everyone
so i can change her nappy, give dd her bottle then put her to bed, unless its a pooey one
have i got that right ?

also do you wait till there alseep to put yours down, or just sleepy?
i normally wait till dd is asleep but as shes coming up to 6 months i was wondering if i should start putting her to bed when shes just sleepy

def before asleep if at all possible, so she can settle herself to sleep in her cot.

Magicmayhem · 29/11/2007 20:50

yep... definately sleepy....

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 29/11/2007 20:54

Definitely try to put her down sleepy as she needs to learn to go to sleep, and don't change her nappy after a bottle unless she's pooed.

coby · 29/11/2007 21:02

totally agree, don't change nappy after putting clean one on after bath unless she has pood in it. Keep it on all night unless it is really badly poo'd in or falling off and can't go back on easily.

Definitely put her down before she is asleep so she gets good sleeping habits - my two would wake up and scream if I put them down alseep after the age of about 4 months. Think they wondered where they were - last thing they knew they were in mummys arms being cuddled to sleep!

fifisworld · 29/11/2007 21:53

I used to change ds, bottle then he was put down whether he was asleep or not, that way he got used to going down awake.
Ive done that from the day he was born, he's 9 months now and still do it that way and i'll be doing the same with ds2 due in 2 weeks!
