Has anyone else found this my son had his one year jabs 2 days ago and since his jabs won't copy any words I'm saying and he's just started really talking loads and now I'm super worried it cause a regression? Has anyone else been through this? Worried mumma 😓😓

If it was only two days ago he might just be feeling a bit rubbish and not be in the mood to talk.

He could be tired and feeling a bit unwell after the jabs, which is normal. He could also be picking up on your stress- are you pushing him to repeat lots of words because you’re worried?

I don’t think this could be seen as a regression, it’s 2 days (where you might well be noticing more than you normally would).

If it were my child, I wouldn’t be worried by this.

There’s absolutely no way his jabs have caused a regression.

He’s probably a bit tired / not feeling great from his jabs. Or just concentrating on something new at the moment.

He’ll perk up and be absolutely fine in a couple of days.

Not medically possible

If he is only 1 I'm surprised that he was talking at all . Maybe he is just feeling a bit "off" after the jabs. I wouldn't read anything into it.

Stop trying to get him to copy words. That's not how children learn to use language. Carry on chatting to him, name things that he looks at / plays with / shows interest in, but don't expect him to copy. You've done the right thing taking him for his jabs. As others have said, he may be feeling unwell, which is totally normal

If it was my child I would worry because that’s what we do isn’t it, worry about our kids and you see a difference so don’t let people make you feel silly for worrying.

I agree though he’s mostly likely feeling under the weather rather than anything more sinister. Give him a few days and see how he is.
