Rotavirus vaccine 2nd dose

DD had her first Rotarix jab at 8 weeks with no ill effect, other than 24 hrs of being very sleepy. However, she does have silent reflux which is we have just got under control with a combination of omeprazole and Gaviscon. I've read that Rotarix can cause a reflux flare up, which we're obviously very keen to avoid. I've also read a Rotarix advice leaflet, which states that, if the child vomits up or spits out the first dose, they should just get the second one at 3 months. If they vomit or spit out the second dose, no further doses are required. To me, this seems to suggest that the second dose is actually unnecessary. I find it very frustrating that, as parents, you can't ever get complete information to enable you to make an informed decision! We are not anti-vaccers and DD will get all other vaccines available but I would definitely be interested to know why two doses of Rotarix are given, whether the second confers any additional protection and if so, how much. Are there any healthcare professionals or parents who have queried this themselves & found out the answer who could let me know? Thanks

No advice but following as interested in any responses also!

@Santatizer count yourself lucky you got away so easy after the first dose, our little boy had an upset stomach & some awful nappies for about 10 days so not looking forward to that again 😣
