No poo in 2 weeks !!

My almost 4 month old hasn't pooed in 2 weeks. Since birth he's gone once a week. He's exclusively breastfed and it's soft when he eventually does poo (like a 99 ice cream consistency). Despite Google telling me this is normal, I can't help worrying a bit as my first baby pooed all day everyday! He's ok in himself, although a bit wriggly and he does scream the house down when he does go. Should I be worried? Has anyone else experienced this? X

I think that’s unusual for a BF baby. Speak to your health visitor or GP.

Yeah 2 weeks is too long.
Possibly constipation. Speak to HV and trying rubbing his tummy to get things moving

You’re best bet is to cycle his little legs to get some movement going, also some tummy time. Just duck when the poonami happens.

So HV said up to 2 weeks can be normal for breastfed babies as they can't ever be constipated. Sometimes they store everything they eat so there's little waste. And I have tried bicycle legs, warm baths, rubbing tummy clockwise - everything. Just lots of wind cones out. I may call doctors just to see if they say anything else. Thanks ladies x

I think it's up to 2 weeks with a BF baby of that age and then they usually don't do anything if he's not in discomfort. Expect a poonami anytime soon!

DD's record was 11 days and I had to throw her clothes away after that poo appeared Grin

Just read a bit more on LLL and they don't seem concerned about it being 2 weeks as long as you're getting the wet nappies.

If you are concerned, I'd give one of the BFing Helplines a call before I'd ring the GP. Every HCP I've ever had dealings with have had little knowledge of BFing.
