Compact but sturdy pram??

Hello all, sorry in advance for my boring question, but I’m pregnant with my first child and am really struggling with choosing a pram. I have a 5 door Mini that I love driving and would begrudge having to trade in for a ‘family car’. Because the boot is on the smaller side I would need quite a compact pram if it were to fit in there.

I’d like the pram to be sturdy and easy to manoeuvre as I walk a lot and plan to go out power walking with it, but I’d love it to also be small and light, easy to fold away, etc. I don’t really have a budget. Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Would a Bugaboo Bee fit? It's what we have and it ticks most of your boxes.

Baby jogger city mini is great. It doesn't parent face but I think you can get a carrycot / car seat attachment for it if you want to.

I have the mamas and papas strada! Rarely see it mentioned on forums but I LOVE it. I can fold with one hand and fits easily in the boot of my Audi A1. I haven't been off road as such but it's super sturdy from my experience so far!

Oh and I bought the travel system in a deal for £660 from a shop called Premier Baby so super affordable too!

£660 is not affordable, for the vast majority of people in this country.

OP Mothercare (online) do a good travel system that fitted nicely in our (at the time) fiesta boot. It's around £299 I think.

Love my Upperbaby Cruz! Is compact and sturdy, taken a beating with DC1 now onto DC2, plus ‘piggy back’ buggy board attachment for toddler to catch a ride. Fits nicely into my small Yaris boot

Not sure on your boot space but we have a hyundai i10, which i think is a tiny boot and the oyster 3 fits in nicely, thank god! bearing in mind that a carry cot will have to go on the back seat unless you find a rarer style where that collapses. i think joolz might? We ended up at a pushchair warehouse so we could actually see it fit for peace of mind.

Jane Epic did the trick for us. The chassis is incredibly compact but it’s an all terrain pushchair with good rugged wheels and very easy to manoeuvre. It did everything I needed it to. Just be aware that the seat doesn’t lie flat so you’d need to buy one of the Jane carrycot attachments for the first six months. We had the Matrix light 2 which doubles up as a lie-flat car seat and is suitable for overnight sleeping so really handy for weekends away in the first few months.

I had a bugaboo bee for ds2 when I had a tiny car. I loved it!

I can't praise the Bugaboo bee enough. I love that pram. And no need to buy anything else when they're older

Thank you so much for all the helpful comments! I’m going to do some more research on the ones mentioned and hopefully narrow it down! Also need to go measure my boot :D

Another vote for bugaboo bee.

I love ours, BUT depending on where you’re walking it may not be for you. It’s not very good on muddy footpaths/very uneven ground. If you’re talking “off road” country walks, I think you’ll struggle to find anything which fulfills all your criteria. If you mean walking on the pavement/in your local park etc then the bugaboo bee is brilliant.

I love the bugaboo bee, which definitely fits in a little car . we also have a cityjogger mini which we got second hand as our car/great outdoors pram as it will take any terrain!

I have the Bee and it’s excellent - I’ve been so happy with it. Highly recommend!
