So my son this passed month has been hit with a really bad flu , once recovered he was hit with a really bad tummy bug and was vomiting for two days on and off. Finally after two days he was then hit with another cough and sore throat. So he is been through it all. He stopped eating about a week ago with the vomiting and since then has barely ate anything. He has bread , peanut butter/ jelly sandwich, yoghurt and rice crackers. But anything else is off the table and he really his only snacking away.

Any advice. We only just had him eating well as he's always been a fussy eater. So to back track so much has me so frustrated and upset.

He is probably still not feeling well. If he has been ill then it’s better for him to small and often. Toddlers are often much better than adults at eating when then are hungry rather than because it’s a meal time.

Offer him a grazing plate which he can keep going back to if he is hungry.

Thanks @Pissinthepottyplease I think I worry more because he has always been very small and we finally had him eating so well. He's 2 years and 4 months and only weighs 12.7kg before his illness and was only 85cm height. So to backtrack feels so hard. I spent so much energy and time getting him to eat 3 health and nutritional meals a day.

Kids are always worrying in some way or another. I would try not to worry about it for 4 weeks and then revisit it.

That sounds an OK weight for his age I think. Three meals a day is an adult thing, really. Toddlers still do well with meal snack meal snack meal type patterns. Maybe think about things that are very easy for him to eat and just keep offering small amounts. I know it's hard when you're watching them, but things should get better as he recovers more fully from what sounds to have been a tough time for both of you.

Thanks @Pythonesque it has. Poor kid has had everything in 4 weeks and I'm currently 6 weeks from giving birth. He has been drinking lots of milk and had two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches today + a yoghurt.

Does he drink well? Could you get some nutrition in him via milkshakes or soup?
