i bought some of them boots ones for my ds when he was potty training just after last xmas.....we only had to use them a few times when we were out as he soon got the hang of it.....i put his undies under the plastic pants and then his trousers on top of them....if he had an accident 4/5 times it would be good as i would only need to change his undies.....but because the wee stayed close instead of running down his leg and out his foot holes he knew he was wet much quicker.....i reccomend them....and also a pad thing for the pushchair, will try and find one and put a link for you.

sorry, read your op properly - my DS is the same - potty trained at home, but not when out. I have so far not been brave enough to go without nappy when out, because if he has a nappy or pants on he mostly wees in it - I guess the feel of pants makes him think its a nappy? Anyway, we are using bright bots at home (rather than being bare bummed!) to try and help him get the hang of pants. They only hold one wee, but look and feel like pants, wheras some training pants really look like a nappy.

On the same website you can buy Swaddlebees nappies, which you can use as a washable pullup - far more bulky and far more absorbent.
