Do you give your children pre made meals/pouches?

Wondering if you give your babies/toddlers the pre made baby meals from pouch or tray? I do, as it's very convenient. My dd loves them too!

I'm feeling a bit guilty about it as a conversion came up about it with friends and they've never bought them. I just don't know how they do it without, even on the odd occasion.

If you do, how frequently do you you use them?

On occasion they were pretty handy. Mostly made my own though, often batch cooked and popped them in freezer.

Yep, both my kids were almost exclusively weaned on Ellas Kitchen meals.

I took the path of least resistance when it came to my babies, whatever works!

Yes, my daughter eats solid food at home but absolutely loves a fruit pouch. I limit them to when we are out as a tidy snack. She’s still at the age where she can make an absolute mess throwing food around.

Becoming withdrawn and not going out for lunches because you don’t feed pouches is weird! Also not everything needs to be cooked from scratch and be time consuming just because you don’t generally rely on sandwiches.

Standard lunch for DS2 is a 100% peanut butter sandwich or crackers with dairylea, a few veggie straws, some chopped veg like avocado and tomato, bit of chopped cheese and some fruit. This is particularly handy to take as a packed lunch and generally not very messy as the foods are quite dry.

Same with dinners, doesn’t all have to be home cooked from scratch meals. I rely heavily on my freezer stash for those. Other times it’s scrambled egg with cheese, pasta with veg and a healthy sauce, tinned salmon with some boiled potatoes and broccoli etc. All these take 10 mins max to cook. I bloody hate cooking.

*rely on pouches…. Not sandwiches. I’m tired 😆

Honestly, I did a mix. DS was mainly fed batch cooked homemade purees, then finger foods from 9 months and DD BLW from 5 months but both had pouches if we were out and I couldn't / wouldn't deal with the mess. I have had very few absolutes re parenting. Save the angst for when they're older because the adage "little kids, little problems, big kids, big problems" is 100% true.

I use them alot and did with my dd too. I've tried blw with my son and he just can't take to it, everything ends up on the floor and he literally eats nothing so I spon feed a jar or pouch meal and give some cut up fruit etc on his tray which I help with. Did the same with dd and she's a great eater now
