Fleece or Wool Wraps at Night??

LouiseT · 07/11/2004 21:03

I've been using Motherease Onesize nappies and Rikki wraps in the daytime for the last 6 months, but haven't made the switch from disposibles at night.

I'm thinking of getting some Tots Bots nappies for nighttime use (do these need to be boosted further for a 10 months old boy??). I've read about wool and fleece wraps for nighttime use. What's best?

Thanks, Louise.

Hi Louise,
White or unbleached tots bots are great for night time use. They have their own adjustable booster so you dont have to buy any unless you have a VERY heavy wetter.
At night I use white/unb tots with wool wraps. I don't get on with fleece they always leak for us.

we use Bumpy wool wraps over Tots at night- even if you did get a night-time poo, Tots are unlikely to leak. Wool is much cooler, because more breathable, and we used to find with our fleece wraps that they developed a bad smell after a few wearings. A wool wrap can literally go weeks without a wash- you just air it during the day.

bloss- no-one told me to wash fleece or PUL wraps every time I used them! The Nappy Lady says that with a laminate interior you can wipe down a wrap when it is removed, and suggests not using the same wrap for more than 12 hours at a time. Well we've survived without washing our Tots or Bumpy wraps every time, and I can assure you my super-sensitive nose would have picked up a pong, if it was there!

Louise, with a wool wrap, there is a smell of wee the next morning, but it soon disappears when you put the nappy in the bucket!

and, I'm sure I was told that one of the advantages of a nappy/ wrap system rather than an all-in-one system was that you didn't have to wash the wraps every time, so saving washing.
