Advice on child's foot

My DD is 8 years old and she keeps complaining about pain in her heal, she often walks on her tip toes to relieve the discomfort.
In the mornings is when she complains the most, but when she's busy playing she runs around all ok and walks around but then I will just catch her on her tip toes.

At first I thought it could be her shoes but she's complaining even when she hasn't got shoes on or wearing different pairs. She has no blisters, no marks, nothing obvious so I can only assume something could be going on inside.
Has anyone else had the same problem? It may just give me an idea of what it could be and whether it's worth a trip to the GP.

Thank you

Look up Severs Disease

@AnyFucker

Look up Severs Disease
I have never heard of it and the symptoms are exactly what she's experiencing.

Thank you for the advice

Plantar fasciitis(sp?). Not sure if it happens to children though.

I'd go GP. Think it could be several things and probably a referral to a children's outpatient physio would be the answer. Better to get a proper diagnosis than have problems later on. Like walking on tip tops means the muscles don't grow properly/long enough to be able to walk properly

Ask for a referral to children’s physio. Either through your GP or via a paediatric consultant appt.

I will bet my house it is Sever’s. Usually active child, typical age group, pain in the heel(s), find relief in shortening the Achilles’ tendon by going on to tiptoes

Op, if you find a very tender spot, put an ice cube in a sock and ice massage it. Anti inflammatories, rest, possible heel cups in shoes (temporarily)

It will pass in a few weeks but might recur so best to get management advice from a Paeds physio
