How frequently do they play with board games and which games do they prefer to play? Thanks! Grin

I have a 9yr old and a 14yr old. We play them all the time.

You need to add a bit more info. Are you wanting to buy a new game? A few? What is the child like/interested in? What have they played before? Are other children of other ages playing too? Are they to be played with a family? Number of people suitable for? Portable? How long do you want the game to last?

Board games are a broad spectrum.

I love Balderdash
The really nasty horse racing game
Monopoly
Trivial pursuit family one
Uno

Yes! Labyrinth, Cluedo, Bananagrams, Monopoly, Articulate here. We play as a family, and the DC also devise their own versions of these games and play them with each other.

@ShowOfHands
Hiya, my interest is in collecting some primary data for my GCSE coursework to design an appropriate product for this age group. I agree with you, board games are a broad spectrum! Currently I am just trying to narrow down the solution to my design brief. Sorry for any confusion! Confused

In that case, we have a wide range of games. Lots of versions of Cluedo, Monopoly and Ticket to Ride, a huge range of Exploding Kittens type games (Poetry for Neanderthals, On a Scale of One to T-Rex, Throw Throw Burrito etc), word based games like Scrabble, Bananagrams, drawing based such as Pictionary. We also love Labyrinth, various versions of Risk, Trivial Pursuits, Cranium, Balderdash, Settlers of Catan. So many!

We play word based, strategy, fantasy, skill, problem solving, world building, games of chance. Then card games too.

The best ones are built on a simple concept with room for expansion.
