Disposable nappy recommendations for larger toddlers

Huggies have discontinued their adventurers range - ds used to wear the L+ size

the replacement 'Convertables' is size 5 a too snug.....

can anyone please recommend an alternative before ds's circulation is cut off from the waist down!

many thanks!

use tesco seize 6. Fits a big, nearly 4 y old (on tuesday)

excellent - will give those a try

how are they on absorbency? the huggies ones used to be the only ones to contain night time wee - even with changing him when i go to bed.....

On sundays ds (and I) are sometimes lazy in changing him in the morning so will have breakfast first. Nappy will be VERY heavy but no leakage. Very occassionally his pj will be a bit wet because it nappy has slipped off a bit after he has played with his "hilly"....

we used the pampers easy up pants on our ginormous child.i think they are size 6.he is hugeand they always worked fine for him.

popsycal · 07/11/2004 19:36

whispers we stopped using pampers as they leaked really badly....although ds isnt such a heavy wetter anymore.....

Pampers Easy Up pants for us too, dd is a heavy overnight wetter and we have never had any leaks at all with these. Perhaps they just suit her shape.

Definitely a vote for Tescos. Ds2 drinks 2-3 bottles of water during the night and so far Tescos are the only nappy that have been able to cope, also a lot cheaper than easy up pants

popsycal · 15/11/2004 19:59

well i tried tesco - and he soaks them through from his bottom to his waist in about 3 hours.....
back to the drawing board....

if you can afford it (how old is ds?) then invest in some tots bits size 3, and XL mother ease wraps, and a pack of boosters. dd2 is a very large 2 year old (39lb, and chunky) and has been wearing these since she reached 1yr old. rarely leak. she was in the largest disposables available at 1yr old (pampers had just inttroduced their extra large sizes) and it was costing a fortune.

he is 2y 3m and i plan to try potty training (again) at xmas before bump arrives......
thanks for suggestions though!

dd2 is 2yrs 2months. also about to start potty training as dont want 2 in nappies really.

Pampers do an Extra Large (Size 6 I think) which are the only nappies which my 3+ yr old still fits in. Never had any problem with leakage. However, he has now decided that "nappies are for babies" and has refused to wear anything the last few nights, but I don't think he is really ready as he has wet himself every night. Anyone got any hints on what to do next, can't cope with all the extra washing.
