Breasts not feeling full

My 4 week old DS has been to the hospital today as he was screaming so much he lost his voice. They diagnosed silent reflux and prescribed us Carobel for him.

Tonight he went from only sleeping in 1 hour blocks to sleeping a 4 hour stretch!

But when I woke to feed him my breasts only felt a little full, and not the big grapefruit boobs I expected after going such a long stretch without feeding.
He fed a little less than usual while in hospital, due to being out of routine and being busy with the doctors. I'm wondering could my supply be affected after one day of feeding less? I thought I'd be totally engorged and uncomfortable now but I'm not and it's a bit worrying.

My DD was EBF too and I remember being super engorged if she ever went a long stretch without feeding.

I remember being OK after 4 hours, it's more a full day that becomes a problem. At around 4 weeks your milk production becomes more stable and less over sensitive, you produce in response to what your baby takes. When he has a growth spurt and feeds more frequently, your breasts will respond by making more milk.
How are you giving him the carobel? Supplementing with formula or pumping will have an effect on supply but it doesn't necessarily mean you will have a problem breast feeding or that he won't get enough milk.

I have to mix a little csrobel with some expressed milk and just feed it to him on a spoon. He fed twice now since I posted and has a big wet nappy and seems content, so I guess I shouldn't worry. Thank you!

Your supply may have been affected but keep feeding on demand and it'll readjust. My first had reflux and was a little and often feeder so I was never really full and rarely engorged but everything was fine. Actually I don't think I was engorged once with my second. Don't worry, keep yourself well hydrated and eat well too. It sounds like now you know about the reflux things are improving for you both.

With my first born I was constantly dealing with engorged boobs . It was brutal . I couldn’t go 4 hours without rock hard painful boobs . We breastfed for 14 months .

With my second born , it was completely different. My boobs were rarely engorged . No idea why . Even when my milk came in they were soft . My son has been gaining weight fine though . He is all over the place with his feeds , sometimes will nurse every hour or two and other days go 4-5 hour stretches . He slept through the night from weeks 8-16 and the first few nights my boobs felt full but that was pretty much it . He’s currently 8 months old .
