Travel bouncer or similar..

Anyone know of any travel or fold up bouncers, or something similar?
DD is 6 weeks, she has a bouncer but it's a pain in the butt to take up and down the stairs to wherever I want it (we have quite narrow stairs). Anyone know of one that folds up, or something similar? Or something with a handle would be even better.
I don't really want another normal second one for upstairs because we don't have tons of storage space. There is the car seat but it's just more restrictive and she's less happy to sit in that. Plus I prefer to just leave that in the car really.

BabyBjorn. They are not the most budget friendly but worth every penny. And yes, it’s very lightweight and folds ups very neat for travelling or storage.

I have the baby bjorn - it folds flat so good for storage. I also have the Chicco pocket travel bouncer. It’s significantly cheaper (I got the grey one for £29) and folds away small too - it’s not a “bouncer” though, just a seat with different degrees of recline. Both my kids used it when young (it was my upstairs chair for them)

I'd just get a cheap one off Facebook marketplace, especially if you've already spent on a downstairs one. You can normally get a decent bargain.

@Eri21 ah I didn't realise they fold up. I've seen several people say they're worth the money, can I ask why? Is it just the fact that they fold?

@Blippibloppi thank you, I'll have a look at one of those!

How often are you upstairs? I'd just lay them in their crib/cot.

Alternatively, a travel cot (if you are cosleeping and dont have a cot) will outlast a bouncer by far- also becomes a safe space to put a crawling baby during the day.

I have a travel cot that has a bouncer as part of it and it all folds away - I have to say I have never actually used that part of it though!

Buy 2nd hand. I bought a baby bjorn bouncer on Facebook for £30, would be £150 new. Best thing I ever bought for the baby, he loved it. Folds flat and you can buy replacement spare covers (including unofficial covers on Etsy too), and a carry bag so we could take to grandparents / holiday.

MotherOfDragon20 · 22/07/2021 09:02

Baby bjorn is great but very pricey, you can usually get them second hand on Facebook market place for a good price, very easy to clean so would be as good as new. Definitely wouldn’t pay full price especially since you have already bought one you don’t like.

Baby Bjorn. No worries buying a second hand one - the covers come off for washing and you'll sell it on for what you paid.

They fold pretty flat ( we used to keep ours under the sofa) and they last much longer than other bouncers as they don't tip once the baby starts trying to pull themselves to sitting. You can use them right up to toddler age (mine outgrew theirs by about 2, but used to sit in it to watch TV as a toddler).

The toy bar is worth buying too for a younger baby if they still do them (had a wooden smiley face thing in the middle).
