7.15 if they’ve had no nap. She is ill this week and has been having late naps so all bets are off at the moment and she is bouncing around the living room.

itscomplicatedlife · 20/07/2021 21:11

@Heyha me too! I'm shattered, I spoke to a kiddies s worker about bed times who agreed it is late and said I am abs within my right also to ask for a shorter nap, in all honesty she has at wknds sometimes gone without a nap at all and is in bed like most of the others above around 7.30-8! She moves to their next stage building soon but not for 6 wks 😩

Anywhere between 8-9. He has a nap in the afternoon around 12:30/1-2:30-3.

We both fell asleep this afternoon as we had been at the beach in the morning and exhausted and he had his nap around 1:30 and woke up at 5. Oops.

He is currently in the living room with me. He's getting tired now though so reckon he'll be asleep soon.

Wakes up around 7.

Mansplainee · 20/07/2021 21:22

Hmm, sounds like you may have to work on the self-settling then, it’s almost like she needs to be absolutely fine exhausted before she’ll give into sleep. Honestly, I know it’s not for everyone, but the only way I got DD to be better at self settling was with some gentle sleep training, along with a consistent bedtime routine (and lots of cueing her up for bedtime in the hour leading up by saying e.g. we’re going to have a bath before bed now, we’re going to get PJs on ready for bed, let’s read one book and then you’re going to bed, etc so it’s not a surprise when I put her in the cot)

lalalapurple · 20/07/2021 21:24

9:30 pm sometimes later?

He just doesn't seem tired earlier...so shrug? He doesn't go to nursery so often only gets up at 8am though.

Lau52 · 20/07/2021 21:30

My DS goes bed at 7 and is asleep within 5 minutes. Wakes anytime from 6am. He goes to childminder 3 days and doesn’t nap during day. He did pass out on sofa in afternoon few days ago due to the heat but was still wide awake at 10pm. My 2nd DS used to go to nursery have long day naps. He wouldn’t settle until 9 to 10pm so never had an evening and really struggled with it so I’m happy this time round. Also gives me hour or 2 to have some time with my eldest 2, who aren’t quite as full one as a 2 year old.

Ohpulltheotherone · 20/07/2021 21:37

Almost 3 year old -
Wakes anywhere between 6.30-7.15 ish
Nap couple of hours if home / an hour at nursery
Bed time between 7-8, usually bath and milk and a story by 7.30 sometimes a little later but very rarely past 8.

mindutopia · 20/07/2021 21:44

Mine is 3 now, but has pretty much always gone to sleep around 8-8:45pm since about 11 months. It's just when we manage to do bedtime (we have an older dc) given what time we all get home and have dinner.

itscomplicatedlife · 20/07/2021 21:54

@Mansplainee that's exactly what she does and has always done, she won't sleep until she has come prolly exhausted herself, even winding it down an hour or so before doesn't do much she runs round in the semi dark. We had such a battle with bed time from 6 mo! She used to scream the house down it was awful and went on for months, we did have a period of time we managed to place her in awake but abs no chance the screaming is really
Awful and we just haven't got the energy to battle it.

@Lau52 I think it's the nursery I mean it must be hard having so many kids, hence I think they let them nap too long and also fact this one is so small also they can't really do individual bed times.

Pickandmix41 · 20/07/2021 21:59

2y 9m DD is usually in bed about 6:45 and asleep by 7 on days I'm not at work. She is a naturally early riser though so no matter what time she goes to bed she's always awake between 5:30-6am and no longer has a nap so by tea time she is shattered! She does usually nap at nursery 2 days a week though and bedtime is usually more like 7:30-8 on those nights as we are home later, still wakes at the crack of dawn though 🙄

snoozeytime · 20/07/2021 22:02

Around 10. Sometimes later. I'm on my knees.

itscomplicatedlife · 20/07/2021 22:05

@Pickandmix41 it seems normal from what I'm gathering that's a lot are dropping the nap!! Our nursery let her nap for 1.5 hours and until 2 she stays up last 9 we're abs drained! 😵‍💫

@snoozeytime oh crikey I would be too! It's exhausting! Totally with you 😵‍💫

I really think you should try being a bit more assertive with nursery. Our place is very small with only 2 rooms and they manage multiple different sleep times.

They had 26 children in the room today (2-4 yo), ranging from no nap to sleeping as long as they want and everything in between. All the nappers go down at 1pm and get woken up by their key person as per parent instruction. I don't think it's that hard.

itscomplicatedlife · 21/07/2021 05:27

@Ihaveoflate

I sent the owner an email last night, it's been a few times that I've mentioned it now, be glad when she finally moves over to the new room as I think they will surely nap less ans the new room may be more interesting and help her burn off some more energy, thank you x x
