Cooling down a room

Hello,
Sorry if this thread had already been done
(I can't find it)
Does anyone have any tips for cooling down a toddlers room ?
The room gets the afternoon sun, we have kept the windows and blinds shut all day and have only just opened the windows but the monitor is reading 30! It normally reads 2 over so is about 28.
We have a fan going with ice in forward off it.

Thanks

Open some other windows and doors in the house to get a good airflow.

We get the hose out before bedtime and give the exterior window and walls a hose down. Takes the edge off the absorbed heat.

All the other windows in the house are wide open

You could try opening the loft hatch

Soak and wring out a towel to hang up at the window, during the day too to soak up some heat. We have the same problem with one of the kids rooms getting hot- opening the front door seems to help, but tried a lot of different configurations of which windows open and when!

Hopefully cooling down tomorrow

My DDs room is the hottest in the house due to the afternoon sun. We've make a cardboard and foil insert for the window to try and reflect the sun. We open the window in the morning but close it as soon as it starts to heat up about 9 and put the foil/ cardboard up and then close the blind and curtains. It's keeping it about 2c cooler than it was just shutting the window and blind and then we have a fan going at night.

The foil/cardboard idea sounds like a smart idea...I use 100% blackout curtains and it really helps to keep the heat out. I've also watered down the walls and roof. Good luck..I hope it cools down soon...
The blackout curtains also are good for keeping the heat inside in the winter...open only when the sun is shining in.

During the day close all windows and blinds. In the evening when is cooler open everything. It works as you stop most of the heat of the sun and hot air coming in.

Like everyone else said, windows open overnight and shut them all plus the blinds/ curtains in the morning to keep the cool in. But as there seems to be no wind right now we are in the same situation. Windows open all night but upstairs is still reading 28 degrees in each room Sad
There's nothing you can do other than buy an air conditioner I think. We're just waiting it out for the rain.

Thanks everyone one for your replies. I've tried everything suggested and it still stays 28c 🤷🏼‍♀️
Still not rain here, hopefully on Saturday we'll get some..
