How can I help my 10 week old?!!

It's 28 degrees in our room, he's in a nappy only. He's so upset he won't let me put him down but also the two of us are radiating so much heat.

Got a fan going, window open. Tried to settle him downstairs but couldn't. He's outgrown his Moses.

His temp isn't high, he's just hot from all this heat. He's been vomiting a bit but he does have reflux anyway.

Absolutely cursing this gorgeous weather

Wet muslin over you both, fan directed at it. Not for long but enough to cool you down. Cool ish bath. Just be careful that whatever you do doesn't drop the temp too much. Drive round in an air conned car for a while.

Bowl of ice in front of the fan

Have you got all the windows open in the house so there’s a through draft? I bought an air con unit when my youngest was a newborn and we had a heatwave. It cost £400 that I had to put on a credit card but she just wouldn’t sleep. So I feel your pain! Tomorrow, if you aren’t already, keep the windows and curtains/blinds closed from about
9.00 when it starts to be warmer outside than it is inside. Foil on the inside of the glass will help as well, it’ll reflect the sun so it’s not heating up the room as much in the day.

DS was born in a heatwave and I well remember how awful it was. I ended up putting his cot mattress on the living room floor and sleeping down there with him because it was the coolest place in the house, with the patio doors open for a breeze, but then I kept waking up all night to check that a rabid squirrel hadn't run in from the garden and attacked him Blush
Bowls of ice next to fans, windows wide open once the sun is down, baby in just a nappy - all sensible advice from PP.

Bless you, I remember this so well. Just sending Flowers

Stick tin foil to your Windows, tightly.
It reflects the sunlight and heat.
It's very very effective. But you should ideally do it before the room gets too hot.

Do it first thing tomorrow morning and tomorrow night will be much cooler
