Christmas Traditions.

I would love to hear what others do every christmas holiday as traditions. We have a B-day cake along with singing for Jesus. My dd came up with this idea several years ago. Also like many other families I know we let the kids pick one gift on christmas eve to open. I would love for my kids to grow up with many of the traditions that I grew up with.

We also have the PJ tradition! It's a good way to get them quickly ready for bed on Christmas Eve!
In the run up to Christmas I take the DCs out to choose one new Christmas decoration each, which we can add to our collection.
Christmas properly starts for us with church on Christmas Eve. After that there's no time for any more shopping (although last year I did have to dash out afterwards when I realised we were nearly out of nappies!)
Christmas Eve is also the time when we keep checking the Norad site to find out where Santa is and how soon he's likely to be with us.
I always read "The Night Before Christmas" on Christmas Eve. My MIL gave it to my DS1 when he was 2 and as she's no longer with us It's a nice way for her still to be part of our Christmas.
Christmas Day varies depending on whether we're at home or at my parents but we always have loads to eat and drink. We do have a traditional chocolate platter which my DH makes with loads of different chocolate (Aftereights, chocolate orange, malteasers, chocolate fingers etc.) arranged in an artistic fashion which is soon demolished by our DCs!
