Curly Hair nightmare.

Hi, My daughter is 15 months old and has lovely blonde curly hair, its starting to go into ringlets but not tight ringlets.

Her hair looks lovely when just out of the bath but within an hour or two she looks like she has been dragged though a bush backwards.

Any suggestions on what I can use for her hair to help keep it 'tidy'?

Thanks

Grow it as long as possible and as it grows and gets heavier it will be less unruly. At this age I would comb through a little water in the morning to refresh the curls.

Honestly don't brush it, it will just make it messy

Only ever brush it wet with conditioner and run a little leave in conditioner in when wet. Make sure it’s sls free as that damages the curls. Rather than brush it dry use your fingers to tease the curls.

It will look better as it grows and gets heavier! But brace yourself for potentially lots of crying when hair brushing as it knots sooo quickly. The Lush conditioner “glory” is expensive but is amazing and has improved our bath times and lasts ages as you don’t need much.

If you go on Instagram or Facebook there are lots of pages about curly hair. A wide tooth comb is a help in brushing, when wet. And brush from the ends and work your way up and not from the roots. Lots of processes and products to reduce the frizz.

Thank you!

Lush does a curly hair moisturiser, which is amazing. It may be a bit much for her hair at this age as it's probably quite short and light still, but works amazing for my dd (8) and she's used it for a few years.

I second the lush curly hair moisturiser. Just take a small amount, rub it between your hands then scrunch it through her hair. Then let it air dry.

If it starts looking bedraggled just wet your hands then scrunch the hair again.

Don’t brush or comb it, just run your fingers through it to detangle.
