Should I worry about DD's weight?

DD recently turned 2. While I was checking DS's weight for the car seat, she jumped on the scale. I've basically put her details into the NHS checker and she's coming up as 3rd centile for BMI.

For context:
-- She has always been slim, and she's also tall (just over 91st centile).
-- she eats a variety but not always a lot. I've always followed my children's appetites, never force them to eat or deny it when they're hungry. Most of food is homemade, lots of fresh ingredients, etc. Food is also for pleasure/fuel, never use it as punishment or reward and so on.
-- developmentally, she is very bright, talks a lot and thriving. She's happy and active.

Today, a relative made a comment that she's skinny and needs feeding up. I'm slim myself and generally not hung up about weight or anything but her BMI centile and the comment have made me second guess myself. Should I be concerned? She's always followed the same lines so just naturally tall/slim but I'm wondering if I should be making sure she eats more, or speak to HV??

My DD has always been on the 2nd centile. She's 12 now. I don't worry about it anymore. She is skinny but she's always been healthy. We're all different shapes and sizes.

I wouldn’t worry. I would keep her on full fat dairy.

Which centile was she born in? And then look on her red book and compare.

Thanks for the replies. Just needed some reassurance.

We have full fat dairy as a family anyway (because it's delicious Grin ) so I have absolutely no plans to change to lower fat. We also have proper butter etc.

Weight wise, she's always been about 25th for weight in her red book, but she's also very tall and lean so just had a surprise with the BMI.

Clothes are a nightmare as she needs 2-3 for height but she's usually running around holding some trousers up because they keep falling down 😂

Pinafore dresses and dungarees. I lived in those as a child as I had practically no hips. I no longer have that problem.

You could weigh her once fortnight for a while and see how she goes. Has she just had a growth spurt? They seem to stretch when they do that Grin

Ignore her BMI and track her centile. They are two different things. Go and plot her weight in your red book.

She does wear a lot of leggings from M&S as they fit her okay, to be fair. She does have some dresses but she is so busy follows her brother and dresses aren't always practical. But thank you Smile
